The Smith Hex Press is an upper body exercise targeting the chest. It involves pressing a barbell using a narrow grip, supported by the stability of a Smith Machine. This exercise emphasizes the inner chest and triceps, providing focused muscular engagement and reducing strain on the shoulders compared to wider grip pressing movements.

How to do it

  1. Lie on a bench under the Smith Machine with feet flat.
  2. Grip the bar with a narrow, palms-facing grip over your chest.
  3. Unrack the bar and lower it to your chest while keeping elbows close.
  4. Press the bar back up to the start position, extending the elbows fully.
  5. Repeat for desired repetitions, maintaining control throughout.
