The curtsey squat is a lower body exercise that targets the gluteus maximus and quadriceps, with additional focus on balance and stability. It involves stepping one leg behind the other in a curtsy motion while maintaining a squat position, which enhances lower body strength and coordination.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hands clasped in front of your chest.
- Step your right foot diagonally behind your left leg, lowering your hips into a squat.
- Keep your torso upright and core engaged as you descend.
- Push through your left heel to return to the starting position.
- Repeat on the opposite side and continue alternating.
